The Carbon Footprint Systematic Approach in place at Skretting Italy since 2020 and certified according to ISO 14067 standard has been upgraded to the Nutreco MyFeedPrint system.
The Carbon Footprint (CFP) Systematic Approach in place at Skretting Italy since 2020 and certified according to ISO 14067 standard has been upgraded to the Nutreco MyFeedPrint system, the global Nutreco solution to provide customers with robust and accurate values for product CFP. Marco Scolari, Quality Manager at Skretting Italy, says “It has been quite a journey. We are extremely proud of this achievement and appreciated the support of the Nutreco Team which has been instrumental in ensuring smooth deployment of the system and in preparing the technical documents needed for the certification”. The upgrade to MyFeedPrint is the last step of a journey Skretting Italy started in 2020, by getting certified the CFP values for a range of products part of the CarbonBalance offer. “Soon we realized the opportunity of certifying the system itself used to calculate product CFP instead of the values for a limited range of products – adds Umberto Luzzana, Marketing Manager at Skretting Italy – so to be able to provide our customers with certified CFP values for any product, with the flexibility to keep the values updated following any change or optimization in formulation”. Certification of the CFP Systematic Approach therefore came in 2021, followed by the full alignment with MyFeedPrint early this year. “The system is now embedded in the formulation program – explains Diego Bazzoli, Formulator at Skretting Italy – which also allows us to formulate products on specific CFP targets”. Marcel Goermer and Anne Gaasbeck from Nutreco supported Skretting Italy in the upgrade to MyFeedPrint and in the certification program.

The adoption of a Systematic Approach to CFP makes it possible for Skretting Italy to report average CFP values of products in the Technical Data Sheets, and to provide batch-specific certified values to customers with specific needs. “The market calls for transparency, as we are fully committed to it – concludes Umberto Luzzana.
