Grading is a necessary tool to maximize production efficiency and profitability. Farming a uniform batch of fish helps with sales planning as the majority of fish will be of similar size. Note that grading can cause severe stress leading to reduced growth and in some cases mortality. Grading should therefore only be done when necessary and according to the right guidelines.
