Improve transparency
Improve transparency and traceability in our own operations, and work together to share information and best practice, building on existing industry partnerships and collaborations.
Skretting is a founding member of the sustainable body Seafood Business for Ocean Stewardship initiative (SeaBOS), which represents 10 of the world’s largest seafood companies. All of these member companies are aligned in the mission to lead a global transformation towards sustainable seafood production and a healthy ocean.
The brainchild of the Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC), Seafood Business for Ocean Stewardship (SeaBOS) connects the global seafood business to science, wild capture fisheries to aquaculture, and European and North American companies to Asian companies. The ambition is to lead a global transformation towards sustainable seafood production and a healthy ocean. SeaBOS actively contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and in particular Goal 14 – Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources.
The work of SeaBOS is based on a set of ten commitments that guide the work within the initiative’s Task Forces.
