At Skretting, people come first. We care about the health, safety and security of our employees, customers, suppliers, contractors, visitors and the communities in which we operate. We are committed to promote a safe working environment of continuous improvement, trust and mutual collaboration.

Zero harm is possible. We demonstrate a caring attitude towards anyone working in or visiting facilities, farms, driving on the road or travelling for Skretting. We follow health and safety regulations and standards. We manage risks well and constantly review and improve our performance and management systems. We also report and investigate all incidents and unsafe situations without fear of punishment.

DRIVE ZERO HARM MINDSET

• We demonstrate the right leadership behaviours and guide and inspire employees and contractors to ensure a safe working environment.
• We benchmark, set clear objectives, address the root causes of unsafe situations, monitor performance, communicate our expectations and reward positive contributions.
• We do not tolerate gross negligence, destructive acts and failure to report.

WE COMMIT TO:

• Provide our employees with regular trainings and compliant personal protective equipment so they can perform their work safely and without harm to their health.
• Increase all our leaders’ awareness by implementing Visible Felt Leadership (VFL). 
• Engage our leaders, employees and stakeholders to collaborate in identifying potential hazards and unsafe behaviours through regular joint inspections and audits. 
• Encourage everyone to respect the Life Saving Rules, to stop a task if they feel unsafe, and to report any incident or unsafe situation without fear of reprisal.
• Build a learning organisation, through good practice and experience sharing, and collaboration across sites and functions. 
• Investigate all HSE incidents in our facilities and any incidents that happen to our colleagues in third-party facilities.
• Benchmark and monitor KPIs according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Continue regularly auditing our operations and provide the means to follow up on all non-conformities.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY:

As a manufacturer of fish feed for Australian and New Zealand aquaculture operations, we strive to minimise our impact on the surrounding environment and promote the long-term environmental and economic sustainability of our operations. We also strive to demonstrate committed care for community safety and the health and welfare of our employees. Our scope encompasses the operations and employees across all of our facilities.

• Considering the environment when making improvements in the design and modification of our facilities, equipment, systems and processes
• Effectively procure and utilise environmental friendly products and services where possible
• Taking responsibility for contributing to the reduction of our impact on the environment

Registered Food Safety Incidents in Skretting Australia Operations

FOOF SAFETY AND QUALITY POLICY:

All Skretting Australia employees are required to participate in the delivery of our FS&Q policy by taking responsibility for food safety and quality systems in their work area, ensuring that the systems are used and regularly reviewed and by contributing to continuous improvement activity to improve them. All employees will be provided with regular training, current documentation and customer feedback. The quality policy provides a framework for setting quality objectives.
